Sustainable
Leadership for a Global Business Environment
Leadership in organizations are undergoing tremendous
shifts today – economic, environmental, philosophical,
social, cultural and spiritual that render past practices and
approaches
to business ineffective. It is imperative the HR professional
lead the way strategically with holistic and integrated approaches
to these complex issues. Finding new ways to think, communicate
and lead helps create more effective and sustainable business
practices for their companies.
Sustainable
Leadership encompasses the values and skills associated with
trust, integrity, social responsibility,
flexibly, smart
growth, creativity and life-long learning. The development of
a sustainable leader is a process – not an event – and
an intentional investment in self through talent, self-awareness,
reflection, persistence and rigor. The development of sustainable
leadership skills and practices enable; 1) leaders to develop
wise, long-term solutions to complex problems; 2) Generate conversations
to increase productivity, customer satisfaction and employee
well-being; 3) Clarify and strengthen team and individual interactions,
leading to increased efficiency and productivity and 5) Establish
organizational frameworks where building and maintaining trust
are the norm.
